Header fitment issues?

Header fitment issues?
Anyone here have header fitment issues on a 2wd auto 4.2? These shorty headers are installed, but the #2 wire makes contact. Even bought a set of JBA header wires and it still touches.
Also the egr tube does not like up AT ALL. It's on the header and about a foot away from where it is supposed to connect up front.
I guess I will have to heat and bend it?

There are many v6 engines versions over the years.
It's an old design that has had many adaptions.
Doubt you will find an OEM pair to fit your application without mods..
Very expensive to cut and bend up for little to no gain in a truck application.

I am going to try using a propane torch to heat it to bend it enough. If that don't work I have some copper tubing and brass flare fittings I will make work.
Out of curiosity...what happens if you just cap/plug it and remove the egr tube all together? The headers did come with a plug. Would this throw a code or affect emissions or anything?
