Anyone know if there's a reasonable way to get my RVs rear camera to feed into my dash monitor screen . The same way the tailgate camera works when I go in to reverse . ?
you would need to use a device called LockPick. You would need to have a wireless camera on your RV and a wireless receiver for the camera hooked to the LockPick. With the lock pick, you can turn on the camera even when moving forward.
I think you can do a search for LockPick and get info in this forum or other forums on this site.
Aftermarket head-unit's often support 2 camera inputs (typically front/rear). You can do rear (OEM camera) and a RV camera.
I say all this because I did it on my 2012 F-250 which had the factory Nav. I put a Pioneer NEX 4200, ran a RCA video cable down to the rear of the truck, added a female outlet right by the trailer hookup, then ran another from the rear of my 35' toy hauler, and i connect the two when I tow. I power the camera on the rear of my trailer from the trailer 12V. I then have my headunit setup so that I can switch from camera-1 (OEM in my tailgate) to camera-2 (the one I spoke about).
FYI too that the OEM camera in the tailgate is 2 wires in the drivers kick panel, easily accessed and tapped into using a 2-wire RCA cable, which plugs in to the aftermarket headunit.
