I`m not sure how many of you are aware of this or if you`ve checked the Ford Owner website but, I was just on there and I clicked the " Check for Updates" tab and low and behold, SYNC 3 version 2.3 is now available for vehicles that are now using version 2.2.
I have a 2016 F150 Lariat with the 502A so i`m not sure if this is for both NAV and non NAV versions.
Unfortunately right now, and according to the instructions, it looks like we`ll have to do this update via USB which is a "PITA" and was for me and I finally gave up trying with the 2.2 update but a few weeks later, the update was available via OTA which worked like a charm.
Hopefully the update can be done via OTA in a few weeks so i`ll just wait and see instead of dealing with a USB.
Started mine via WiFi Up Here in Canada, but disconnected after about an hour. Downloaded the file, followed the instructions, and had V 2.3 after about 20 minutes. All good. I reported the update to Ford (that did fail) but it showed up on my Ford Owner profile about 2 hours later. It was actually one of the easier updates I've done. Mebbe I'm one of the lucky ones. Cheers all, PK
Interesting this isn’t working...My truck has been connected to my WiFi for a week now and has even had time to connect to Ford and confirmed “no update” is available. It’s probably connected many times, but at least twice I’ve sat in the driveway and waited for the “ping’ to complete. Yet, on the Stync website it says V2.3 is available for my truck.
Then again, it’s still waiting for me to confirm my updated for V2.2. My update went great, but the confirmation back to the mother ship failed.

Same here. As long as I get the updates, no big deal. Still I wonder why the glitches.

Right now, the only way to update to 2.3 is via USB only and yes, I finally figured it out using a USB and a Mac.
After said update, the Ford website will update the changes via WiFi so one does not have to plug the USB stick back into the computer after it`s removed from the truck even though the instructions on the website says otherwise.
A warning to those doing the USB update. When I plugged the USB into Stync for my last update (from 1.x to 2.2), I immediately got an update prompt on the screen. This time around, the system just starts downloading without any feedback. I didn’t realize anything was happening until I noticed the USB light flashing. At some point, the status bar at the top of the screen also notifies the user an update is taking place.
