Midfifty ford has pretty much everything you need. I've also ordered a good deal from lmc, they offer free shipping if you spend over $1000. Generally if you're spending that much you're buying large body panels that cost a ton to ship anyway.
Welcome to the forum! I have the same truck. Do NOT get rid of your bed or running boards. They are not reproduced. Some parts are the same as the F1 but some are strictly F2 and F3 specific. Don't get rid of anything until you know for sure.
Lots of help on this awesome forum so take your time and enjoy your build.
Add my welcome. Great that the truck was your grand dad's. The truck tells us that he bought it with the high option "5 Star Extra" trim package. Hopefully all those trim pieces are still with the truck so that you don't have to replace them. I'll second the above comment about the bed, running boards, and tailgate. None of those pieces are being reproduced. Last suggestion I'll make is that you do some Google research about the truck's 17" wheels. All F-3s came with two piece wheels having rims known as widow makers. The trade name for them is Firestone RH-5°. Stu
Welcome to FTE. There are quite a parts sources. Each has it's own specialty and pricing. Watch the shipping prices too. Some often have free shipping. A few of the common ones are Dennis Carpenter, NPD, C & G Early Ford, CPP, Eastwood and even eBay. There are hundreds of others that specialize in things like nuts and bolts, trim clips and other smaller items. Home Depot has good prices on smaller pieces of 16 gauge sheet metal. And finally don't forget to do a search in our own '48-'56 "Parts For Sale and Wanted" thread at https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...and-parts.html.
And if you need anything else just ask. Many of us have "spare parts". You already have learned the number one rule: Post pictures. The second one is learn to use the forum advanced search tool.
Good luck. We will be waiting to see your progress.
