You can also unplug the IPC sensor on the drivers side cylinder head to see if it runs any better. It will set your SES light but that will go out after you plug it back in.

May you could post up a video of it running. If not you can text/email it to me and I'll post it for you. 406-939-0177 cell, paulzumpf@yahoo.com email.

That's a good idea. I will unplug the sensor tomorrow and see if that makes it run better. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you all for all the advise. I replaced the IPC sensor and it seems to be running better. I had the code cleared and the light has stayed off. Thank you all for the suggestions.

Glad you got it going.
Thanks for reporting what the fix was. It might help others in the future.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

There is a large wire harness running over the valve cover on the driver's side. It leads to a 42pin connector. Those wires have a tendency to rub through where they pass over the valve cover.
Let us know what you find there.
I’m having a similar problem with the wastegate solenoid as well. I did crank it a few turns a while back but after installing my ts chip and having it on for a while, if you push the truck too hard it used to show “over boost” but wouldn’t go past 15 psi. Any thoughts?

What are you using to monitor boost? If you are using a gauge, use your scan tool to make sure the MAP sensor and gauge readings are very close to the same. This sounds like a MAP sensor issue. Remember that the MAP sensor reads absolute pressure so you can either set your scan tool to read gauge pressure or just subtract atmospheric pressure.
If your MAP is reading correctly, I would ask how old your tunes are. If the tuning is more than ten years old, pull the chip and have it updated. Some of the old tunes would set an over post code without defueling. I'm talking 15-20 year old tunes. Also tuning has improved making them safer for your engine.

I had forgotten about that little gem.
15 psi seems to low to be getting a code.
Definitely add this to your list of mods. It will protect your MAP sensor.

At the moment I have a TS 6 position chip but after going through what I think is an egt problem, my injector cups have been replaced 3 times, I keep it on stock and use high idle in the morning.
I use an SCT livewire programmer to monitor everything and found out today that my exhaust back pressure line is clogged with a bunch of what I think is soot.
