I had Deavers on my 13 Raptor. They rode great and calmed down a jumpy rear end. But they start rusting very quickly when the winter road treatment goes down. Enjoy them.
Did you ever get the "right Deavers" and install them (without the blocks)?
No.... I just finished trying to line up the current version and only have about 25 miles on them. So far I really like them and I’m not going to go about installing a second set when I’m already happy with what I have. There is a small part of me that is curious as to what the other ones would be like but at this point I just don’t feel like it’s worth any more effort.
Sooo if anyone else ends up in my situation just know that the short travel Deavers using the factory block is still a nice improvement over OEM leaf springs as far as ride quality is concerned.
So I am confused, this was for ride quality or carrying capacity?
Ride quality, you lose payload with deavers. Right around 1000lbs for the full length versions. It's far and away the best suspension upgrade you can do, as long as the payload decrease isn't a problem, or you install long travel airbags.
1.5 year update on my one off Deavers with stock block installed.
I can't complain. They softened the ride and personally the loss of load capacity does not bother me. The got a little squeaky this summer but I hit them with fluid film and they calmed down. I still have my stock springs if I ever need to go back or sell the truck.
