460 distributor

hey guys this question goes out to the guys that have swapped a 460 into a bump side what dizzy are you guys using I have tried 2 different ready to run types one with a ignition module and vacuum advance that hits the intake and the t-stat housing and a hei style one that required the removal of the t-stat housing any info would be really appreciated thanks in advance

I think over 4 years ago I bought a points style Dizzy for my 460. It was from Rich Porter Technology. Billet aluminum. But I can't find anything on-line about it now. Looks like he might have sold out to Spectra. Once I go through all the extra sets of points I have I'll put a pertronix unit in it.
If I were to do it again I'd prolly buy a Pertronix kit. Dizzy and coil.

A Duraspark II dizzy will be your safest bet.

What are the part numbers, or brands of distributor you have tried before.

Does the duraspark require an ignition box my truck didn't come with one so I am not sure what I would need to run it

Stock intake and thermostat housing?

You can but one from Parkland Auto Machine - Products They will curve it for better performance and the price is great for what you get.

DuraSpark electronic ignition was introduced in 1974, but not all vehicles came with it until 1976.
