While backing into my shop I got the RH mirror too close to the jamb, resulting in a cracked lens. Does the lens snap off, or is removal by some other method?
Someone should be able to help up here. Lots of helpful members. The thread probably got buried. I dont have any idea myself, other than the glass itself can be ordered at most auto parts stores. Should just pop off the mount behind it.
A good glass shop will help you out. If you turn the mirror as far out on the outside edge you will see the plate it's attached to somehow. Tow sided tape or glued to the back plate that adjusts it?
Must be I was the only guy with a '17 who was a bit on the tired side while backing in to the garage...
sorry. Don’t know the answer either. I am ordering the Recon smoked lenses for mine and hope it will have instructions for take off of oem, if no one knows by then.
I did not break the mirror, but rather the light lens on the outboard side. Thanks so far!
Mirror clear turn signal
Get in behind both sides of the lower glass with your fingers and gently pull the glass out. Tilt the upper glass up and to the right for the LH side or up and to the left for the RH side. You will see an opening to insert a small flathead screwdriver. Gently pry out the glass. Five 7 or 8mm bolts to remove once the glass is out. Then the two halves of the mirror will separate.
