This starter should have longer mounting bolts installed when the starter is installed. The surface of the Denso is nearly twice as thick as the OEM starter and will not allow for the OEM bolts to secure the starter well enough. At least not for my liking...
I have been told that the bolt lengths are the same for the 4R100 as they are for the ZF6 manual.

It is 2 bolt, the third location is blocked out and is a solid tab. You could drill this spot out and use it as a third bolt location if you choose, but I felt the starter was mounted very securely with the 2 bolts. I can shake the entire truck by checking the starter to ensure it is still tight.
I usually check the starter when I change the oil and give the truck a once over glance while waiting for the oil to drain. I have the Fumoto drain valve, which is very nice to use, but it does take a while for the oil to drain out.
