Thanks for the compliments.

I really like the setup now in regards to the charging and starting system. I do plan to upgrade the wiring, but not this time around. The starter is amazing, nothing else to add as you can hear that for yourself.

Where did you buy it ?
I looked quick and noticed they call it out to fit 2000 right to 2003.
I was under the impression the 2000 is a different fit

I bought it from Corey at CNC Fabrication in the link below.

https://cncfab.us/shop/denso-gear-re...tg228000-8420/

He is a stand up guy and willing to make things right if/when they go wrong. I know this from personal experience.

As you will see in the link, the starter fits 1994.5 to 2003 7.3 trucks. Some people claim that a bit of trimming or modifying the cross brace is required, but I found this to not be the case at all. The new larger Denso starter was no more difficult to install than the OEM starter was to remove. As a matter of fact, the top bolt that was difficult to get to with the OEM starter was easier with the Denso because of the case and how it mounts to the transmission.

My wife had a chance to ride in the truck yesterday since returning from her trip. We picked up 4 loads of firewood and when starting the truck she thinks the starter turns over 4x faster, but at least 3x.

It is a beast and has zero problems turning the 7.3 over and getting it going in a very short period.

The truck will probably explode because the starter will turn the truck over, like upside down onto the roof there is so much torque.

Denso cranked the truck over with ease yesterday morning during a "cold start" (GA style at about 35 degrees) and had it running in about 1.5 seconds. I am sure the new NorthStar batteries have a lot to do with it, but just wanted to share an update with those wanting to know.

The biggest surprise to me were your batteries, in the mid of the vid you can see the gauge is basically over the + sign. This alone would make me happy.

The NorthStar batteries really are top notch. If/when the battery in our Subaru and my wife's VW Beetle goes dead, I will be getting a NorthStar AGM for them as well. You can not only see (build quality) and feel (weight) the difference, they perform very well.

The Odyssey Extreme batteries are virtually the same battery, so if the other vehicles are not in the NorthStar inventory, the Odyssey will be the next choice.

I need to get an updated picture of the engine bay, it is looking pretty good under there. My OCD tendencies are pretty happy with how things are turning out.

781 miles. Do you reset the miles at the bottom of the speedometer at each fill up?
Please share your secret.
