High Torque Mini Starter

Does anybody have any thoughts on a high torque mini starter? Having starting problems and a buddy suggested this to me.

Try getting a starter like the 94-96 I'm sure there's more years but I believe that's basically what those are

If you still have the OE cables, junk them and have some 1/0 or 2/0 cables run to the starter from the battery.

World Of Difference!!

I have 1990 f250 with the 5.8. I have replaced all cables. I took the new 4 ga cable I had just bought for the ground and grounded out the starter with it and replaced it with a 2 gauge cable. I also wrapped the starter DEI heat wrap. The truck has headers but they 're the size of a stock manifold and they don't run down by the starter. I am on the third Oreilly rebuilt starter. The battery that the truck has is a 880 CCA battery.

You can buy a new pmgr starter for under $50 from DB.

I have one in my truck.

DB Electrical is in Kingsport TN.

You can also find them on Ebay and Amazon.

Pretty sure the same starter is used on 5.0 and 4.9's
Just be sure to get the one for a flywheel, because an automatic starter will destroy itself as soon as the engine fires.
