Throttle Position Sensor
I believe my throttle position sensor is going bad. Posted before about random shudder going down highway and checked codes and Throttle position shows out of range. I'm baffled because no auto parts locally stock TPS for 1986 Ranger 2.3 FI vehicles anymore. Nor do they carry knock sensors. Shows "obsolete item". What the heck! Can't get parts so is it time to send it to the scrap yard? Looked online at some of the offbrand parts suppliers and they ether don't carry the part or it's the wrong TPS. Any Ideas?

Could you use one from a 2.0L from the same year?

I believe the knock sensor controls the timing to control spark knock. Had a knock sensor go bad many years ago and the engine sounded like a bucket of bolts cause of the spark knock. Had to run premium gas or severely retard the timing to control it. Put in a new knock sensor and problem solved. Fast forward to now and have the same issues going on. Every where I look the sensor shows obsolete.
