throttle position sensor

i have been having some intermittent symptoms and trouble codes in my '92 f150 5.0 v8. i have cleared the codes a couple of times and i have it narrowed down the main problem to a 122 - "throttle position sensor below minimum voltage". does this mean that my TPS is simply bad or does that mean that i have a bad connection somewhere leading to the TPS?

Could be either, to test back probe the connector to the sensor with the key on. You should have between .5 and 1.0v with the throttle closed and 4.5-5v with the throttle open on the signal wire and there should be a smooth transition in between. I had the code and when I checked, it had about 2v all the time and was real jumpy in between. Switched it out and not only did my high idle problem go away, but the thing ran a ton better. Good luck.
