Boxlink cleats to secure generator?
Just picked up 2 Ryobi 2300 watt inverter generators and a parallel kit so I can run my RV. With those 2 gens in the bed, I've got a Bakflip MX4 hard folding tonneau cover to keep them out of site when not in use. But, obviously want to chain or cable them down. How secure is the locked Boxlink cleat if I snaked a chain or cable through that? Any better methods of locking them down? (I have a 5th wheel prep not in use - almost wondered if that was a good anchor point). Chains or cable?

I often think people go overboard with securing stuff in the bed. If a thief gets to the point where they’re willing to cut a simple cable lock or chain going through one of the locked box link cleats then they’re to the point where they’re going to defeat whatever you’ve done to lock the generator down. You’ve got to remember they don’t care what the generator looks like when they’re done and they sure don’t care how much damage they have to do to your truck. Locks are only there to keep honest people honest.

While the boxlinks seem secure, they will not be the weakest link in securing a generator with a chain or cable. "Smart" thieves likely have a bolt cutter. Its easier to peddle an undamaged generator, so whatever is fastest for them, cutting the cable or the lock...
If I were a thief, I wouldn't want to break a sweat. I'd get one of these:
