I have the remote tailgate release button. It releases the tailgate latch, however the tailgate will not lower itself, you have to give a little push. Maybe the releases springs in the latches are weak? Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
Mine seems to rely more on gravity. If the rear of the truck is raised up at all (on even a slight hill for example) I have this problem, level ground works fine.
I never had this problem until I had my bed sprayed with Line X. The solution was to shave the rubber bump stops that the tailgate comes in contact when closed. Works perfectly now.

That could be my problem then. Had Linex recently sprayed, but never used the tailgate release any prior to that. Are you talking about the rubber stops within the latch mechanism on the tailgate? Seems like shaving those would cause less of a push away.
When I first got my Raptor the tailgate wouldn't release. I couldn't figure it out and then I Googled it and was lucky to find this:
1. Press on the tailgate with your shoulder and push the button (tailgate or key fob) - it should open up
2. Look at the rubber pieces - there's one on each side of the bed. They're kind of Z shaped and they function as rubber "springs" to push the tailgate open. Mine were flipped (rotated) around the wrong way allowing the tailgate to get wedged or stuck shut.
Rotate them around - you'll see how they should be oriented and if this was the problem your tailgate will now function correctly.

Yes... the rubber stops that are L shaped. When I looked at mine I could see where the line X had made "witness" marks on them. I removed the bump stops (breaking both plastic push pins in the process) and shaved them down on both the front and backside using a knife. Works much better now. When removing the push pins pull the center "pin" towards you and they may not break. I replaced mine.

X2
I had this same problem. There was some spray liner on the working latches, both sides. I cleaned the over spray off and now works fine.
Also. If you just stopped and hit the release, it may not open. Hit the electric unlock and it will now engage (with 3 car seats in the back, work briefcases have to go in back when we carpool to work. )

Ok this was indeed my problem. The left side was the culprit. I was able to shave down the Linex on the edge of the tailgate to get the clearance needed so the rubber bumper wasn’t no longer binding.
