Talking Ford work solutions cable lock

Got me a new toy for Valentine's day. It's one of the new options available for the 09 F150, but Ford was kind enough to make it fit the super duty's also.

It's a bit of a pain to put in, but it bolts directly in place of the little tie down loops in the back of the bed. Cable is 8' long with a hand cuff end so you can loop the cable through things and hook it back on itself. Comes with a retractable reel so you don't have to worry about it laying around in the bed. I got it from Ed click here for part

That is a nice setup Chris. I had no idea that Ford made something like that.

I'm guessing that its a lock for anything you put in your bed.

It's a lock for stuff that you carry in the bed of the truck to deter theft.

It's a vinyl coated steel cable to chain things in your bed down to keep them from getting stolen. The cable is harder to cut through than a chain. I carry things around in the back of my truck sometimes that I'm worried about walking off if I leave the truck sitting in a parking lot.

I saw it in a brochure for the new F150's about 6 months ago and immediately contacted Ed about pricing and to see if it would fit our trucks. At that point he had not even heard of it. I had to send him a link to show him what I was talking about.

He checked into it, and no pricing was available, and he could not even order the part at that time. I give him credit because he did not leave it at that. I got a follow up email from him every month telling me he still could not get the info. He even copied me on a reply from a district manager once so I didn't think he was ignoring me. When he finally got pricing, he added it to his site and sent me the link, which I of course bought. Now I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and get a 2nd one for the other side.

You will need a couple of 1/4" x 6" extensions for the install.

It was such a pain trying to find this part and Ford wasn't very helpful for the first 3 months of looking for this part number. when Ford did call and said they now have a part number and I could order, I ordered two so I have one in stock. Takes about a week for me to get. I listed the part in my specials section.

Thanks (Chris)F350-6 for your Patience and this post, maybe I'll sell a few more of these.
