My Banks Hi Ram seems to be leaking where it connects to the intake manifold. It's been off an on so many times I don't doubt the oring gasket is worn/torn, or something. I'm wondering if anybody knows if the oring is the same as the oem on the Hi Ram, or if not, can I use something else to help seal it? Some kind of gasket maker or silicone? Banks wants like $130 for the small parts kit including the gasket, ridiculous!!!
Got a hydraulic store near by? They will have a good assortment or
can make one for you. Because the Banks has to mount in the same
place as the OEM unit it's worth seeing if it fits. It may and that is
what I would hope for.
Got my oring. Is it a bad idea to put a little silicone on it to help seal?
Absolutely no reason to. Its a compression sealed joint. There's only a couple of places a sealant is used on a 6.0 (or any modern engine) and that is not one of them.
