what kind of filter? connected to a heater, radiator hose??? wouldnt a good strong flushing out get rid of anything nasty inside? still not too clear to me.
Fuel JUST started leaking. that plus other points will be addressed soon/ STILL NOT clear about POWER FLUSHING COOLANT GUTS to get rid of that STUFF inside. Maybe a little grease cutting dish soap, a degreaser for motors, fast orange ?????? If motor is running and its got fresh water being pumped thru it would that not take care of problem? A drum could be filled with some "soup" and recirculated thru engine allowing anything heavy to settle down/. WHAT SAY YOU???
The Banks chip DID improve performance and a little better MPG. I unplugged it one day and noticed a definite loss of power but I didnt check MPG. When truck goes to shop and we do things recommended I will try it without chip and see. What about flushing the cooling system out with plain water or water with liquid dish soap for cutting grease or a liquid degreaser???? With the ideal climate here is the thermostate necessary? Is hotter (203) better? Gracias Jose A.

Change Out Coolant
1 Empty the radiator
2 pull the drain plugs from the side(s) of the block. Put em back in.
3 Add water & a cooling system cleaner. Drive it for 5-10 miles. let cool and drain
4 repeat step 1-3 with water only
5 Drain again....add coolant and additive.
That's the best way, but not the only way
BTW: The plugs in the side of the block are a PITA to get out. and may require a special square socket, 5/16 IIRC
One is behind the starter.
? DUMB ME !!! still not clear on this whole coolant filtration idea/system. ? WHY??? Never had any heating problem and the coolant looks greenish and clear after 10+ yrs. I have serviced cooling systems of gassers by 1) remove thermostat 2) drain motor removing radiator hoses and flush with clean water, 3) mix liquid dish soap with water, add to motor, run till hot, drain, repeat if needed, 4) add this milk like solution sold at parts stores (about a cup, cheap, I usually double up) and run for few miles (100 ?) 5) drain, flush, (by now hoses and clamps are easy) and fill wit new green. This method has worked well for me here. ANY and ALL feedback W E L C O M E thanks
