There was never any ratio like 3.78 available. The only stock ratios are 3.55 and 4.10. What is the AXLE code on the door jamb sticker? Also, is there a tag on any of the diff cover bolts? 2000 RPM at 70 MPH, with stock tires, suggests you have 3.55s.
Thats a very good idea about the scanner . Yes Amazon ships to MX (between 2-3 weeks ) I also think that you have 3.55s.

You have gotten very good comments from Jim and Adam too.

My typo mistake. 3.73 not 78. I extrapolated from HUSSLER Jims numbers and it came out to 3.73 ratio. I haven't been under my truck in a while but I remember seeing red silicone on diff cover. NO positrack and on wet, steep and smoth inclines I have to go 4x4 or one wheel spins. Does computer have to be windows? Can it be done on an old macbook pro? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and keep them coming

No clue. Armature on what exactly? Also, what are your GPs?

My truck has NEVER heated up on me even years ago driving hard through new mexico and west texas summertime with temps above 100. I read somewhere that these engines need to run at a certain temp and that a thermostat rated higher temp can help. Just how important is changing the coolant for new? still have the same as of 10 years. never had to add any. ALSO, would somebody tell me the difference between "quick reply" and "post reply" Should I start a new thread every time I have a new question or just stay on this one? ALSO, is this the right forum to be on?

GP is glow plugs. Change your coolant man and put a filter on it!! Have you checked the supplemental additives in the coolant? If you don't keep them up to par then you'll get holes in the cylinders. Quick reply is at the bottom of the page. Stick with this thread, a new thread on this same subject will not do you any good.

Totally agree with Glenn, you have to check the supplemental additives in the coolant. Here are some articles about that.

How do you filter the coolant? Is this an aftermarket mod? Where do i get one? Where is it installed? Are those test strips available at autozone or should I go to a Cummins, International, or Kenworth dealer? My sincere thanks to all who took time to help me.

John, I can't find the picture but I put a filter on a motor with 172K. Ran it 4K then cut it in half. It was full of brown sand looking junk probably from the casting sand at the factory. This is the crap that eats water pump seals.
