The OP has a CCSB and has both plates. I have same, CCSB, but only have one plate. I think we had a CCLB state they didn't have both plates. It doesn't seem its cab or WB related.
Is it possible that two are added for those with power running boards? I have 6.7, fixed running boards and one bracket. After being in a side impact accident back in march where my 2012 F-150 FX4 was totaled, I think that bracket would fold right over in a side impact. As stated in one of the previous posts. I also think its a fuel tank protection plate, to protect from high-centering during off-road excursions.

I have an F350 cclb srw FX4 King Ranch with power deployable steps. Truck only has the the rear plate. If looking at the truck from ground level, the plate lines up with the fuel tank and it would make sense that it was put there to protect from side impact. Strange part is the plate has holes that appear to be threaded with no bolts in them. Like something was meant to be mounted to it as an accessory.

I have a SCSB, its the (second) shortest wheel base truck maybe that has something to do with it?
No running boards from the factory
edited for clarity, thought it was shorter then the regular cab but its 148 vs 141.5 my bad.
Everybody's got it wrong....it's a factory prefab bracket for your train horns. If you got two brackets, it's front and rear facing, with the emphasis on the larger one upfront.
My 450 doesn't have either of the plates...but the wire connector is there. Have power boards, is it the connector for lights on a solid running board? If so, what is proper connection to fit it?
Thanks,
Joe
