Experienced my first flickering tonight. In total, the headlights were for about an hour straight, some of which I was loading up my Mule, hauling it about twenty miles, and unloading. By the time I jumped in after unhooking the trailer, one of the right headlights was cycling on and off. Temps in the 40's tonight.
hey double R.. did you get those tail lights installed yet?? curious to see how much better these are. thanks.
Sorry. Just saw this. Don’t have them in yet. They were on back order. Just received them this week. Hope to get them installed this weekend. Will post up pics as soon as I can get em in. Thanks.
Headlights
Switchback front turn
Front Marker
Fog bulb replacement
Reverse
Brake/ Turn lights
License Plate
Came out real nice. The resistors are a bit of a pain, not hard, just a pain. I did strip the wire and solder them on so it took more time.
Tips for those who are going to do it.
1. If you have a camera in your Front Emblem. You can simply slide your removed grill off to opposite side to work on each headlight with camera cable still attached. I used a piece of wire to secure it so it was not just supported by the cable going to the camera. I spent about 10 seconds trying to figure out how to get the camera cable off and noticed I could move it to the side so I went that direction.
2. Find where you want it and predrill holes for you resistor screws
3. The resistor wires you want to connect to are the outside wires on all 6 plugs (2 front and 4 rear)
4. Access the fog light bulbs from the inside. I first tried to do it like the guy on the HR video from the outside wheel well and it sucked. I am a big guy with big hands...still more room coming from inside.
5. When doing taillight turn signal test make sure both resistors are connected or you will get hyper flash. I had a wire come loose and it hyper flashed on me when testing. I secured the wire and it takes a few seconds for the computer to decide it is good.

Can you elaborate on tips #2 and #3? Drilling holes? I don't recall that from any of the videos??

If you have a 2016, go with VLED’s. I ran them in my last truck which was a 2016 F250. Excellent light output, great light pattern, and they never flickered or skipped a beat once. I have 2 sets of the Headlight Revolution leds installed in my 17 because of all the positive reviews there are and although they started out great, I’ve became less impressed with them, mainly due to quality. I say that because I am happy with the light output when paired with the fogs. They started flickering a while back though, not on every drive but occasionally. They would do just a quick pulse and it would go another 15-20 minutes before I’d see/notice it again. It’s progressively gotten worse. Now I notice them flickering on every night drive. Now they are up to a 2 pulse flicker, then it’ll go away for 5-10 minutes. It bugs the **** out of me, it just seems so tacky in my opinion. I’ve also noticed moisture in my right side fog light (fog lights are HR as well) which is really disappointing considering moisture in lights is one of my biggest pet peeves. I guess there is a possibility that could have happened with the factory seals shrinking up in the cold weather too though. Whenever I have to get new leds once I get the Anzo headlights, I’m going to switch back to VLED’s if that tells you anything. Anyways, this is just my personal experience with both brands, good luck!

Curious to read your review when once you installed the vleds.

Hi 09f250v10
I'm very interested to hear more about your experience with the VLED's in your 2016 Super Duty. I have a 2016 F350 SD and just installed the Supernova V3's and really disappointed in them. They are really cloudy with uneven light patterns. When I contacted Headlight Revolution with my issue and a photo, they responded that it appears I had the LED's in horizontal instead of vertical with the LED's facing right and left. He also asked me for some photo's with my truck parked 20ft from my garage door. The LED's were not installed wrong as I watched the video so I send him back the photos and he comes back with the light pattern looks great (against the garage door which always baffled me) and I could fill in the dark spots by purchasing their LED Fog Lights.... REALLY???? That's your solution????? Maybe the headlight housing reflectors are different in the 2017's where the Supernova's work better but I would not recommend them for a 2016 or lower. Of course they won't take them back so if anyone is interested in a set of the H13 Supernova V3 LED's, I will sell them for 110 bucks free shipping to recoup some of my money. Just PM me. I have attached some photos and a video to show you what I mean. The video really shows the clouds and uneven pattern when moving.

Well I’ll start off by saying that a drop in led bulb setup will never yield a perfectly even beam pattern. I speak so highly of the VLEDs because they yielded the best results of the few that I tried in that truck. They had the most even pattern of any brand I’ve tried thus far (a lot to do with housings too), the most adjustments of any I’ve tried, best build quality of any I’ve tried, and they NEVER skipped a beat or flickered once! My current HR leds are disappointing. I posted a while back on this thread about some issues I am having with flickering more frequently and it’s gotten worse...... I like the way they look, but the pattern isn’t near as good as my VLEDs in my last truck and the flickering is really what killed it for me. The only thing is that I don’t think they make the version I had anymore. They’ve updated to a new style, which I’m sure is top notch quality but I have no way of telling you whether or not the pattern is projected the same as their previous version. I’ll be taking the risk and switching to them regardless though 👍🏼

Looks like the crappy pattern I had where the first 20 feet was nothing but darkness with some Amazon special HID complete headlight units in my 2014. I paid $380 for them. Hated them and wouldn't put them in my 2016. Sold 'em for $50 just because the box they came in was taking up so much space in the garage.
As far as the 2017, yeah they're a whole new animal compared to the last body style. I've got $74 into a set of 4 Beamtech LED from Amazon. I'm very happy with what I see at night. Others here seem to be also. Only time will tell if they last or not. Sometimes ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances!
