7.3 'Stage 2' Upgrade path?

Almost embarrassed to post this....

I've been looking for guidance for upgrading injectors/HPOP/Lift Pump etc and haven't found much information aside from sales pitches.

I have a bigger turbo, 4" Turbo back, DP T5 Chip, EGT/Trans Temp, GV Overdrive, Other supporting minor mods. Truck is well maintained and running good at 130k.

I've actually downgraded the trucks duties, sold my 38' 5ver carhauler and now only have a 11' (5000#) Cabover camper and a couple Snowmobiles to haul around. Of course I also did move, I am no longer in Alaska and can find mountains to climb at highway speeds (50-75mph), instead of 35-45 mph.

Whats the next logical step for my truck? I'm due injectors, it's puffing a bit of smoke occasionally.

If theres a mediocre upgrade that doesn't involve revamping the entire truck I'm interested.

Thanks FTE!

I don't see any problem with stage 2's as long as your intake is also upgraded. You will need new tunes as well. Trans still feel strong? Valve body helps but isn't the cure. What about a trans cooler?

I really doubt your injectors are due. You likely have drooping ICP, maybe some smoke, some unnecessarily elevated EGTs, and not all the power that's really available.

There is a Custom Tunes link in my signature, that is worth a click. This [LINK] right here is worth a click as well.

Trans is good, have had a BTS Valve body in it for about 30k. I'm going to install either a 6.0 cooler or a mishimoto. Last weekend I did about 500 miles @ 12k#, up and down several passes and the hottest it got was 210, most of the time it was 170-190.

Wow, I leave FTE for 5-6 years and everyone gets all high tech!

As I started reading Episode 7 I was thinking 'I have a graphing Snap On Scan tool, I can handle this'.... Then I discover most of this is done with Torque Pro which I already have? Sweet.

For decent datalogging it seems I'll probably need to fix my EPB Sensor and tube, it's been disconnected for many years. I have a manual guage but that won't do me any good logging.

Looking forward to utilize your well documented experience to get my truck where it should be. Back to reading...
