Distributor question 2

Hello again folks
No spark in the distributor
I had my daughter hit the ignition
I saw the rotor spin but saw no spark
The points are set at .025 per chiltons shop manual
I checked TDC and positioned spark plug #1 and the distributor accordingly.
Its a 240 engine, 1969, f100

The previous distributor at least got the engine started
The distributor was incompatible w my carb
Now the carb and distributor are compatible

I must have done something wrong as I replaced the distributor

The wire coming out of the Dizzy (distributor), did you hook it up to the "-" negative side of the coil?

Well, you obviously need to go purchase a 12 volt test light.
first check is if you are getting voltage to the coil +, and to the points (with them open)

I did not mean to insult your intelligence. Anyone can forget a step. But you mentioned "no spark in the distributor". Which means there is no spark as the points open. The power leading to the points to create that spark comes from the coil. Via the wire I referred to. If you have no power at the points then you need to find where that power is stopped. As Willow posted.

Swap in the old condenser. The new manufacture condensers are all junk, for the most part. Very common problem anyway.
