Crap

Well driving home from work this morning the darn symptoms came back, this time with codes.

I think I made it angry by loving on it. Jeez it's just like a wife! May have to start calling it the mistress 😭

Ignore the first two... those are both very common and have no effect on the way the truck drives. That P1280 is interesting (but not a disaster)... do you have a chip or program in there?

Ok, was curious about the p0603. Yes, I also put a TS6 in after it recently started the problem, and have only driven it on the 1,3,4 settings to and from work. Usually keep it in stock setting so I can accurately watch Torque pro

So thinking this thing out, it started the issues a couple weeks after I first pulled the PCM to get the codes off it to order the chip, and progressively got worse atter I pulled it again to put the chip in. Last night I thought about that cheap ground clip, and if it might not be making good contact. So this morning i pulled the PCM, ground clip was nice and stiff and seemed like it would make good contact, but I thought it was a crappy afterthought design. So I took a piece of black 18g wire, put a spade terminal on one end, and a small ring terminal on the other. I flattened the ring terminal, and put it on one of the long PCM case bolts at the rear near the chip opening, and ran the wire out with the TS6 cord, hooked the spade terminal to a female end grounded under the dash (so if some numbskull isn't paying attention the spade will seperate) and reinstalled.

Extra ground

Now I know I have a good ground to PCM housing. No trouble as of yet today. We'll see if that's all it was.

Nice work, every time I read stuff like this I'm less intimidated to tear in to mine.

Forgot to update this thread, turned out to be the ICP sensor, finally had oil show up in the sensor plug after a few more stalls

So the mistress is happy once again? It is a fine balance keeping the wife and the mistress happy at the same time without making one jealous of the other.
