HI first time post, I looked around, but did not find the answer.
i have a 2011 E250 van. The wind caught the passenger front door and blew it back and over extended the hinges. the door closed but rubs, so not using the door is the best option.
I bought new hinges and deciding if this is worth tackling or passing it to a garage to handle. Looks simple at first but look possibly complicated to access.
Is replacing the upper and lower hinges really complicated and difficult to access? or just have to remove plastic pieces?
It is not so bad to replace hinges. Make sure the cowl isn't damaged. I replaced a hinge on the driver side of mine. I took the fender off to make it easier to get at the bolts, but there may be a better method.
I doubt if new hinges will cure your problem. It's probably the post where they mount. I've had success in the past by placing block of wood in the jamb and pushed on the door as if you're closing it. I will caution you that this takes some "feel" and could make things worse.
