Hi gang, ok, so I was having this debate with a friend. I've been driving the van for about 9 days now (just filled tank today). So, with my mitsubishi endeavor (v6 awd), a tank lasta me one week. I put 80L of gas (supreme) at around 1.33/L and avwrage around 510km. the E150 takes about 100L or regular gas at around 1.18/L and got about 640km on the tank. I'm having a hard time calculating this one, but I think the E150 gets better consumption than the mitsu. Whatcha think?
I was in a hurry so my math might be flawed as I converted it to gallons and miles per gallon since I am not good with metric..
But it looks like the E150 getting just a little over a 10th of a mile better milage
mitsubishi endeavor
317 miles
21 gallons
317 divided by 21 = 15.09 MPG
21 Gallons =
79.493647 Liters
1.33l x 80 = 106.40

e150
397.678 miles
26 gallons
397 divided by 26 = 15.2 MPG
Ok, so the E150 does get a bit better milage. Heck, if it gets the same as mitsu i'll be happy with that. I'm sure on straight highway, it does much better.
Only thing that counts is how much fuel you put in to fill the tank divided into the distance driven. Then divide the cost by the distance driven to get cost per kilometer.

What he said. Distance/volume=distance measurement per volume measurement. In your case KM/Liters=KMPL
Now take you Cost per Liter of fuel/ KMPL and that will give you your fuel cost per KM.
It is important to try to fill the tank the same every time. Several tanks will give you a more accurate kilometers per liter. Also, verify your odometer is accurate. I've had a couple vehicles where the odometer error was diiferent than the speedometer error. I would use mile markers to try to figure out how accurate my odometer is.

Only you can't always count on the accuracy of those mile markers. 'Specially in Louisiana. They're either in the wrong place or missing altogether.
