When using my S5 just with bluetooth i get the Pandora icon on the sync 3 screen.....my question/concern is when using a usb cord to connect Pandora always launches to a station when i never had it on to begin with. It shows the song and artist, but it is paused.....i always swipe it off the screen and even the phone as well. Does anyone know if it used data when it does that? Kinda bugs me. I reached out to Pandora and they told me to make sure i had it closed by hitting "quit". Funny thing is there is no "quit" for many many updates now......how to get it to stop????? Besides deleting the app.
I switched to Spotify after using Pandora for many many years. Got tired of the buggy app, poor stream quality and lack of support. I had a similar issue with Pandora in my truck and half the time Pandora wouldn't startup correctly. Spotify works perfectly.
Same issue with mine. I finally logged out of the app on my phone to keep it from launching. Now it complains about me being logged out but at least it doesn't automatically start playing. Next will be to uninstall it as it never seems to play without buffering anyway. If I play it thru my phone, it plays fine.
Does Spotify launch automatically when phone gets plugged in? seems to work the way you think it should using bluetooth, just shows what apps are available.
Must be a Ford Sync thing? soon as I plug it in and sometimes unplug Pandora it launches. Crazy.
thought i might have figured it out....went into developer options on my phone and found under "media" this option. "Prevent USB audio routing" with the description that says "prevent automatic routing of audio to USB peripherals"
Seems to have promise....but.......didn't work! deleted the Pandora app. oh well.....

Yep, I thought I that would work also. Same results as you.
I delete the stored data on my iphone 7 Plus and reboot the phone before connecting it to the radio. So far everything seems to be working as it should.
