Sync and I phone

2019 F250 with Sync 3 and Iphone 8
When I start the truck the ringer volume on my phone goes all the way up max. Not bad but when I shut off the truck and get out the ringer volume on my phone is still full volume. I chatted with Sync and they told me to do a reset which I did with no change. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a volume control I'm not seeing in the truck or on the phone? I have the volume on everything else set perfect for me except this issue when I get out of the truck. The phone volume itself stays fine, Its just the ringer volume that changes.

I don't think it has anything to do with Sync. My 8 plus always seems to go to max volume for some reason. I usually have mine on silent and vibrate. Hope this helps.

I've never noticed mine doing that. But then again, I don't use my ringer. Phone's always on silent/vibrate. It's generally considered unprofessional to have your ringer audible during meetings, and I've gotten so used to it being off, that it just stays off now, even after work.

Does this happen when you plug the phone in, or is it just on Bluetooth? I rarely plug mine in except for when we're going on vacation and it's a long drive, so that might also be the difference.

I use both Android and iPhone (for work). My Android works great with the Sync 3 system, but the iPhone gets weird on me, turning the ringer off usually. I miss important calls so I ended up discontenting it from the Sync and now it's fine. Seems like the opposite of your issue.

Same issue here
I leave the bluetooth off and turn it on when I am going to make a call. Don't use my phone often when I am in the car...

I have an iPhone X and it does the same thing. Full volume on the ringer.

Sync 3 and Iphone Xs. Same problem. Ringer goes full volume when connected via BT. Haven't tried the cable yet.

Same. iPhone XS Max. Happened with my older iPhone as well. I believe it's IOS related, not Sync, but I've not had time to research it in depth yet.

I would think it's a SYNC problem as none of my others cars do this.

Same with iphone XR. I always have my phone on vibrate so I don't notice it until.....my alarm goes off in the morning at max volume! Wakes you up pretty quickly though.

For what it's worth, my Pixel 3 XL doesn't do this. Must be an iOS thing?

if you go into settings--->sounds & haptics, then you can set the ringer and alerts to your desired volume. then click the "change with buttons" icon to off and the volume of the ringers and alerts will not be affected by the side volume buttons.

my iphone does this also when I get into the truck, but with the settings above it negates it.

Also, you can try adjusting volume through bluetooth when phone is connected and turn the volume down to a reasonable setting with teh above setting suggestions from JackBauersMom. I htink these settings all had to be turned down on mine when I picked up the truck....
