I have Android Auto installed on my Galaxy S7, paired up phone to Sync 3 fine. But when I go to search for apps in BT mode (no USB).. it comes up No apps found.
Troubleshooting, I've then plugged phone in, it goes into Android Auto mode w dimmed out phone screen but then you don't get the Find Apps menu option, from my understanding you do this in BT mode for Android, IOS is USB cabled up. I've also called apps up active on my phone, searched on the Sync... No Apps found! ...again!
Tried truck running or in acc mode, either way no apps can be found.
Android auto is USB only not BT. And when you plug it in and run andrpid auto it locks the phone out of any functions directly from it. That is an android safety measure of sorts.

I got that as posted above, I think I used the term 'dimmed', but I can't get my phones apps to load on the Syncs "Find Apps" screen. I understand not all apps will load in as incompatible, but the only app that comes in on the App display is my phones 'Ford Pass' app.
I think you're expecting to see all your phone apps in sync screen, but that's not possible, they only apps that I knew for experience it's Spotify and Pandora in BT mode, maybe some others
Agree about usb. I thought Bluetooth would do it but I was wrong. With usb, I can connect Google maps which is awesome! Spotify comes up on apps but nothing else. Pandora probably would but I deleted that crap app after their recent political statements. Screw Pandora!!!
You can also get some apps in BT mode, but even it is very few. Fordpass, Glympse, Accuweather are some of the few. Oh and the Auto Club app if your a member, althoug the current app crashes when you try and use it.

I wasn't expecting them all, but a few. Some have said they have Waze working with Sync, that's one I was trying for.
I did have the Fordpass app come over, so it looks like it's working, just not very robust one might say. In searching google, there's Sync systems that have many android apps on their screen. hmmm
Yup some of the other manufacturers are including Waze and many more apps in their infotainment centers, I would love to have waze. But imho I think google is trying to kill it since they bought it.

Hope not, I agree that they are competitive apps, but the Waze is considered a social app and originally google said it would keep this separate because of that.
I have seen some Ford Sync screens with Waze, as said, not the Super Duties (yet).
Also, there are other auto implementations out there that work fine over BT w/no USB.
One thing I noticed was I must plug my S7 into the bottom USB port. I plug it into the top Sync tells me it is trying to draw too much power. And it won't connect.
I'm still patiently waiting for Android Auto to add Waze too! It was supposed to be added already in Q1 which ends today. C'mon Google you promised us a year ago.

Rumor has it that it's going to be delayed past Q1 as the mother ship (Google) told the Waze team to add more driver and car specific data collection so they can sell that information for better targeted advertisements.
