E40d or Torque Converter issue??

Hi All... Im trying to work some bugs out of my F250 1994 with a 95 PSD 7.3. When accelerating and shifting automatically, the shifts are hard as hell. Like the TC is locked all the time. Its not too bad if I drive it real easy, but foot into it and she hammers gears real hard. I also get the OD light flashing sometimes and then it just goes off. Any ideas please..

The flashing OD OFF light means error codes have been stored in the computer's memory. When error codes are set the computer sets shifting pressures high to prevent damage. That's why your shifts are hard.

Get the codes read and then we can figure out what's wrong. The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.

Ok, A few things of note. I got a hold of Auto Enginuity Support and asked them why my AE would not read any codes for my truck. They gave my some things to change in the communications Config and there ya go. Motor fires right up and seems to run fine. It is continually pulling 2 codes, p1280 and P0113. Niether are affecting the running of the motor yet.I did a KOER Switch test and found, p1536, p0220, P1780(this one bothers me)P0703, P0565, P0566, P0567, P0568, P0569. The last 5 codes don't bother me as I know why they are there. The issue I am having is the shifting of the trany, The other morning I took in out for a test run and for the first couple miles, all was fine, shifted good, then the od light started flashing and the hard shifting started again. that's when I read the codes. Yesterday, I remived the wiring harness plug that plugs into the trany shift switch and the pins and the plug socket looks to be quite dirty and corroded. I am hoping that cleaning the plug and pins will solve the shifting issue... Any opinions welcome

Just a bit of history... 9 years ago I bought this truck. Its a 94 with the old 7.3 IDI. Shortly after I bought it the trany went, I had a motor and trany from a 95 f250 that I rolled, so I did a swap. I would not recommend this swap as it was a huge job, All the wiring was different and even the wire harness under the dash had to be swapped. But I did it and this truck worked for me for a year, until it became to unreliable for what I was doing. I bought a 06 f350 and that was a good truck till now. The 94/95 has been my bush /wood truck till now, as My 06 just got wrote off by insurance. Now im trying to get the old girl back up and running till I find another. Im kinda leaning towards sticking with the 95 - 97 era as I really like the engins, But I think I will keep my eyes open for a ZF5.. I am sick of these auto trany's. anyway that's it in a nut shell for anyone one interested

I am currently working through the Trouble codes. The truck will have to do for now. I got my AE to work on it and pulled a pile of codes.
P1280 ICP sensor.. I tested the harness and it is good, ordered a ICP sensor from RIFFRAFF.
P0113.. Intake air, I have a DIY 6637 filter set up, so I will have to live with that code
KOER Switch test pulled a pile:
p1536, parking brake....not concerned at this point
p0220, peddle pos sensor....I was wondering why the peddle seemed so responsive., I am going to clean and re align switch.. I think the Idle validation is being triggered way too late, from just a quick look at it.
p1780, Trany controle switch....I found a bent over pin on the shift selecter switch on the trany, replaced with spare, no change. will remove the plug on the pass side of the trany today, inspect and clean.
p0703, torque conv. brake switch... Don't have a clue yet
p0565 to 569.... CC issues. It dosnt work anyway. I don't believe that will cause shifting issues.
I took the truck for a good run yesterday, 50 miles, and it ran good. Shifting was a bit hard at times. OD light started flashing for a bit the went away and the OD button worked as it should.
I will keep puddering away on it....any advice would be appreciated thanks

You're on the wrong track. The switch (actually called TRS-Transmission Range Sensor) has nothing to do with this code. This code sets when you don't press the OD OFF button while the KOEO test is running.

I didn't see any codes listed that would have made the OD light flash.

Thanks Mark. I wasn't aware one had to push the OD button and press the brake peddle while performing the KOEO Test.
I removed and cleaned the plug on the pass side of trany, I took it for a 5 mile run and no issues at all. I will be taking it to town tomorrow (70 miles) and give it a good run. This thing has been sitting for two years, and befor that it was run a bit for fire wood gathering, mainly sat since 08. So im happy with the progress. I installed new Master cyl today as well, so hopefully it will stop haha.. Thanks for your advise.

OK.. Took this dam thing for a good run yesterday, ran good. trany shifting a bit hard at times. No flashing od light.
I am still waiting for my icp sensor to come in to replace..
Today, had to run down the road a few miles and on the way home, was going slow maybe 30 mph and the trany started slipping. Only for a second or two then stopped.. Trany light started flashing. Came home and plugged in AE and a whole pile of codes
p1280 and p0113, I already knew were there
p0237
p0236
p0500

then did a eoer switch test and got the same as befor
p1536
po220
p1780
p0571
p0703
p0565 to 569

Im starting to get a bit frustrated.

Im not worried about the switch test ones, its the new dtc's that have me puzzled.
I cant wait for this icp to come in so I can try it. Im sure it is pooched as with the engine running, I unplug it and the idle does NOT change. Also the harness tested ok as far as voltages go...
