But WELL worth the extra effort as that's a one-time thing and the benefits are on-going. Being able to search for a number or text in those 5000+ pages is fantastic.

No doubt!!! People don't appreciate what computers & modern technology allow, I wonder how many people even understand how to look stuff up in a book anymore...

Thumbs up

THANX GARY!

I don't that I will ever need a MPC again but what you are saying is worth consideration.

Years ago, I researched MEL as few knew much about them and the LM MPC of the period was invaluable.

Now I have the desire to study the gas SD and the HT MPC would again be invaluable.

I drove (years ago) a late sixties T-950 SD tandem dump with a 534 and a 5 x 4. It had lake pipes coming out behind the step tanks unmuffled. Between that and straight stack MACKS, I can't hear a damn thing...

There are similar versions of later, and earlier for that matter, MPC's so you might find something on the SD.

I created a new bracket today, as explained on Big Blue's thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post17307602.

I see you already made a bracket - but since I took this photo for you ... here it is. It has one bolt in the fender and a locating tab that fits in an adjacent hole.

Your bracket looks stronger than the factory one

Mike - Thanks!! But that doesn't look very very strong. Maybe it doesn't need to be, but at least we know what it is supposed to look like. However, I don't see a good way to make one like it.

I wonder if Gary is as much of a purist as I am...

I'd be chompin' at the bit....

Thanks, Bill. You found the same number I did. But, I didn't find those sources. I'll call tomorrow and see what they want for it.

But, I'm not a purist on Big Blue, KULTULZ. How can I be with a non-stock bumper, air cleaner, intake, exhaust, etc? So, I'm thinking what I have is better than stock, so if it ain't cheap I'll probably use what I have.

Nah... you misunderstood.

I like mine OEM or better. No J C Whitney crap hanging out. Modifications are fine if done with taste/detail. Your A/CL is fine...

A minor detail like this would drive me nuts.

There is a difference from OEM and modified.

KULTULZ, Big Blue is Gary's daily driver utility truck... have you been introduced to Dad's Truck?

Time on FTE and on the web site. So, not as much gets done on the trucks as could get done. But, I'm doing what I want to do, and I think that is the definition of having fun.

As for the bracket, I called the places this morning and provided the status on Big Blue's thread. But to summarize, I'll probably order it when I get the guy from Klimesh gets back with me. Thanks again, Bill.
