Where is a good place to buy an ecm? Everywhere I look they don’t have the matching numbers mine does. Parts store says it’s because ford changed the numbers.
Its a 460
The number on the PCM should be F6TF-12A650-AHA and the Ford part number is F6TZ-12A650-AHA.
Ford does not put a part number on a part as they can change.
Salvage yards and part stores go by the number on the PCM (F6TF) but the Ford Dealers do not but they can cross it over to the Ford part number (F6TZ).
Note on the internet sometimes they just use F6TF-AHA as all PCM Computers have the 12A650 as a base number.
The AHA is the important part along with the year F6.
Everything matches. Ask for a F6TF-AHA computer at the store or when ordering online. Be aware you will not find them new, they are all rebuilt. Get one with a good warranty.
Might be worth a shot to open yours up to look for signs of leaking capacitors and/or burned components. If it is just the capacitors you can most likely repair yours.
