wow bondo over duct tape??? Hmmm doesn't sound like the best fix. Its kind of like drywall when people use duct tape then mud over it. I guess its true, there really are a million uses for duct tape
I worked at two body shops that would have us use the stainless steel duct tape to patch rust holes for cars for used car dealers who didn't want to spend money to do the job right. We'd grind the rust down and then knock the edge of the rust hole in and apply the tape just so it was just below the surface of the surrounding metal. We'd then apply a decent layer of mudd over the tape and finish it off. It looked great but I would assume it didn't last much longer than a few rain storms and a few rough roads.
HINT: Never buy a two tone car from a used car dealer.

The aluminum duct tape is what I've seen.
You wouldn't buy a two tone, especially if the bottom paint was new?
