I watched the newer show "Vegas Rat Rods" for the first time. They do some nice work and spend a lot of time on the details. They didn't destroy a perfectly good truck to make their creation rather used bits and pieces from various scrap yards. The end result would not be my choice for Top honors in a car show but they did put a lot of thought and work into it.
This jewel was at a local cruise in. I would call it a creative storage of vintage memorabilia rather than ugly. The gentleman that owns it put an old Cadillac drivetrain with the 500 c.i. in it.
The three tail lights on each side and the "feathers" on the quarter would make the T bird rear end a 1960 vintage. That is interesting, the T bird being unibody mounted on what appears to be a '50s vintage Chevy.
Don't laugh - I almost went and looked at that! It was on my local craigslist a while back. It is a 1953 Chevy cab that is chopped, nosed and decked. 1960 T-bird box. 272 Pontiac Inline 6 motor. 2000 S10 chassis. Ad said it needed finishing. I think it was painted to look like a patina finish. Thought that it would benefit from a new paint job. They were asking $5,500.
Agree that some of these have some workmanship into them. I may not always like what was done, but can appreciate the work. This thread is starting to remind me of a decal I saw recently that read: I didn't build it for your approval...
