Red face Thermostat issue

Hi Guys,

I recently noticed my 2005 F250 6.0 was running really cool, like barely making it out of the 170's. I guess it is time to replace my thermostat which I just replaced about two years ago. The question is should I replace it with another stock 192 degree thermostat or go for a 200 degree Mishimoto? I found where some where going to that one and it is supposed to make everything run better and the thermostat lasts longer. Any pros or cons to installing a hotter one?

Get this one from your local International Dealer parts dept.

This one fits my 2006 and has been in sense 2014. The Motorcraft
ones seem to only last a few years and then crap out. I was getting
only one winter out of mine and then they gave up. This one here is
holding at 192º when in winter cold and at 202º when warm summer
outside.

Yeah thats kinda what I am thinking happened to mine. Good for a couple of years and then they just seem to give up. I'll check into that International one. Anyone have any other recommendations? I am in Texas so plenty of heat here in the summer and cold in the winter. Was wondering if there is any reason to go with a hotter thermostat here in Texas or should I stick with the stock 192? Is there one that has a warranty that would keep me from buying them every couple of years?

Well this is weird. Called International and they could not find that number at all in their system. They have a 183797c91 for a F250 6.0 for $88!! Seems really high for a thermostat.

I run both the 192* and the 200 mishi. I swapped out the 200 for the 192 at the beginning of the season just to help with controlling a little bit of the heat from running the ac and when it comes time to haul the boat around. I have noticed lately that my temps in 90*+ weather I still run around 200* with the 192 thermostat. I guess it's personal preference as to what you want to run. I know come winter the 200 will be put back in.
If you decide to get the mishi make sure to get a new ford housing and it will come with the thermostat so if you don't like what your running you can experiment and swap them out as you wish.

I am thinking I will just go with the International one. I dont want to mess with the operating temps especially since it gets so hot here. I am wondering if maybe that part number International gave me was a newer version of that one that Yahiko recommended.

I can find these two part numbers but International only can find the C91 and they say it is for a e250 not an f250. They are both for 6.0 diesels. So they should fit but dont know for sure..

Not sure what is going on with the part number.
Did you have them look by part number or application?
I wouls show then the photo and see how that goes.
When I got that one that was back about 3~4 years ago.
They did have to order it in at the time.

Just some quick searches.
This is the Google Search : https://www.google.com/search?safe=o....0.f-BUiOcaiEg
Google came up with this seller : http://www.partsriver.com/1839304C92-62649675.html
And I found this on Ebay : http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTERNATIONA...5ZMhcs&vxp=mtr

That was all with the 1839304C92 part number.
