Compressor Wheel Upgrades ATS 088 / 093 Anything?!?

I am going to rebuild my ATS 088, and was looking for a compressor wheel upgrade. I have seen where Diesel Site is offering a billet WW2, however I have not found anyone with real numbers to justify spending the money. No dyno tests, boost gauge results, or subjective judgment on them.

Does anyone know of a billet replacement compressor wheel for the ATS 088 or 093. I need one for the 088.

Now if there are no noticeable gains in, HP, Torque, boost or faster spooling then it doesn't make sense to spend $200.00 just to say I have it.

So any real life feedback from people who have installed them, real numbers or at least subjective results from first hand experience would be greatly appreciated!

my only reasoning for going with a WWII is because of the billet aluminum vs. the cast wheel that are on these dinosaurs.
never seen an IDI wheel break, but plenty of others that send shrapnel through the engine.
billet wheels are more durable.
also another factor of why I innercooled my engine

I checked Justin's website, there is only the WW2 listed under Turbochargers and Parts. I have sent him messages both through email and facebook. No response. He has been instrumental in bringing IDI performance to more of us IDI owners. So not knocking him, just no responses. I need answers and parts and don't want to wait weeks or months to get a response.

I appreciate your input, I am really looking for some real world applications of the WW2. I am starting to think the fact that I can only find one person who installed one seems to answer the question.

Still hoping to find the answers.

I appreciate what you are saying, but spent a little (very little) time on Google and could not find one instance of a 088 compressor wheel breaking. I would venture to say that most of the failures around compressor wheels are worn bushings, allowing lateral shaft movement, and the compressor wheel comes in contact with the housing, I am rebuilding my turbo to prevent that.

IDIoit you are the only one I know of that has any real world experience with one of these, did you notice any appreciable difference in performance of your turbo?

Yeah, I want to know this too.
I've been thinking about one myself - I'm totally turbo-limited, so anything I can to to get more air through my factory turbo would be good.

I wish I could answer this for you guys,
I was running a clapped out 093, with a up pipe casting leak.
then I rebuilt the engine, bought a bunch of stuff, new castings for the up pipes, and had Russ rebuild my spare turbo with the WWII.
I was running 7-ish psi on the old engine with FMIC
and im still at 7 psi. but it does seem to build boost right away.

I have not messed with the turbo, because after the catastrophic failure of the built engine, I put my temp engine in it without studs, and I like my headgaskets,

sadly the temp engine runs (.)(.) and I don't wanna mess with it until I have to.
so with everything that was done at once, I cant give you guys a solid answer.

but the truck runs great! very happy with it, I just wish I had a clone or 3, so I can finish the back bumper and paint the rest.

Justin is a busy guy, he will get back to you. Hmm, he did take them down, but im sure he still can build one with a custom wheel, as he just put together an 093 with a GT35 wheel or something for smogie i think.

Justin dynoed a before and after with a stock 093 versus a WW2 093. He gained iirc 10hp and some spool up...

Thank you! Good info, do you know if the dyno was done with the only difference being the WWII or was there additional tuning like turning up the IP?

Pretty sure it was the only difference as he wanted to see for himself if there was one.
