Yup. They are indeed the same. There's not many places that make those wheels, and someone even told me once that they all come from the same manufacturer, and are just packaged differently. The design is similar or the same as the OBS truck turbo's.
The main purpose of the wicked wheel is to help alleviate surge. A nice side effect is the cool sound it makes. It does however flow less air than the stock wheel, hence the couple psi drop.
If curing surge is the reasoning for a new wheel, the better (at curing surge), easier, but more expensive way is an ATS compressor housing for the turbo. If you don't have any surge issues, you may still want the wheel anyway for the wicked sound, even if you lose a couple pounds of boost.
it gives the false sense of more boost, because the WW cures surge, and you do not need to back out of the throttle going up hills to bleed some boost as a stock wheel starts to surge.
