Recovering freon

Every time I try to read up on "recovering Freon" the video or article ends up being about evacuating the system-not recovering the Freon. I have a tank for the Freon, manifold gauges and a vacuum pump. Can I move the Freon from the ac system into the tank with what I have...or do I need some special pump?????

You need a Refrigerant Recovery Machine and a tank to store the refrigerant. Check eBay for deals on used ones.

Well I have the tank. I don't suppose hooking a hose from a port to the tank would work from pressure differential?
