Good Morning all, my 94 F-150 has recently developed a problem, when I switch from front tank to back tank, the truck will die on me, and while on the back tank, the truck takes longer to start, dies and then starts right up, when it's on the front tank, everything is just fine.
is there a pump or filter or both in each tank? or if anybody has any ideas I sure would love to hear them, I can get by on just using the front tank, but since I have two tanks, I like to be able to use them both, that second tank sure comes in handy between paydays when the front tank starts to get a little low.
It is hard to say, you may have a bad check valve in the front tank pump and when you change to the rear the fuel goes into the front tank dropping the fuel pressure and would also take it longer to start on the rear tank.
To test this fill both tanks and start driving on the rear tank, if the front tank starts to overflow then you will know you have a bad front pump.
The other possibility is that you have a bad (week) rear pump.
