So I am thinking about ordering a 50 or 52 inch light bar for my 17. I haven't found any windshield mounts for the 2017 SD yet so if anyone is running one I would love to see pics and who you got the brackets from.
Please, no! Do not put a light bar on the top of your SD. But really, please give this a second thought. In all seriousness, it was a terrible trend in the first place, and it is dying off pretty hard at the moment. They're great for old hoopties though...
Zroadz makes a great light bar mount for above the windshield. If you really need a lot of light off-road, there's no better place to put one. Who cares what the "trends" are. If you need it, you need one.
Now if you're just doing it for driving around town, yea, no.
Super-truck I have my reasons for needing the light bar up high. That said I do want it to look good and don't care for drilling through the roof permanently like the one brand that has been showed here. This is why I posted this thread to see if there are any nice set ups out there.
I run dual 50s on my 2015 (in the grill). I know it isn't a 17 but in regards to light output, they are incredibly bright and love them. I live 4 miles into a state park with no street lights so it lights up the roads like it is day time.
I second the "don't mount up too, looks really stupid IMO.
