Fox 2.0 Rear Shock Availability Update

This might have been mentioned in another thread but I'm not sure.

I chatted with Fox today. They have no plans to produce a new shock for the 17's. They said that new rear bushings for the 17's will be provided with the 2016 model shocks in the box when purchased, in a few months.

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to be ignorant on this, but do the new bushings slide in or are they pressed in?

You can just press the in with you hand or a mallet. I bought Bds fox 2.0 they came witth the proper bushings already. Only difference is the BDS sticker.

The ride is much better than stock, stays planted much better, which isnt saying much as I had a blown oem shock.

I put the 2016 versions on the rear, got the resi with compression adjusters for towing. Night and day difference 👍 needed the updated bushings and sleeves. You can find part numbers in the Fox thread.

Thanks for the info Snelldawg. That's different than what they were saying a couple months back. They must have decided it wasn't worth it to have a whole new part number when the change was so minor. So, the question is, have you ordered??

As to the BDS, they are not the same as the standard FOX 2.0. BDS buys their fox components in bulk and assembles their own shocks. They valve their 2.0 shocks differently than FOX does during assembly. I'm not saying that's good or bad. Just noting that it is different.

This may be a question suitable for the other thread, but, If I order the shocks for my 17, as the part numbers are listed in the other thread, and I plan on installing a level kit someday in the future, will I need a different front shock? Sorry if this is an ignorant question!

Thanks

Depends on how much level you are getting. The base part number is for 0-2" lift. Here are the front part numbers for more lift:

Model Year Position Lift Part Number
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Front 0-1.5" 980-24-677
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Front 2-3.5" 980-24-646
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Front 4-5" 985-24-061
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Front 5.5-7" 980-24-652

Rear:

Model Year Position Lift Part Number
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Rear 0-1" 980-24-647
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Rear 1.5-3.5" 980-24-653
Ford F250 - Superduty 4WD 2016-2011 Rear 4-6" 980-24-665
