Gauge data - school me

Ok, I've been running Torque Pro for a while now to monitor all I can and learning what it all means. I'm not for certain if I have a boost leak or not. Some of my IC boots and AI clamps were loose. After snugging those down (before I got TP) I can hear the turbo whistle louder when in the throttle so I'm sure I definitely had a leak before all that. Now, I have TP and the max boost I have seen is 16.2 psi WOT after letting the AT downshift to 3rd and flooring it up the biggest hill I could find here in these parts of North Texas. This is with no load.

My EBP is 13psi KOEO, which I guess is about right being +/-2 of the atmospheric pressure here. And it goes up 1psi for every 1psi of boost.

I tried making a boost leak detector. First attempt, I had bubbling at the base of the oil fill tube. Later, I found out I was supposed to bypass the CCV. After doing this, my DIY detector blew at the silicone seal where I had inserted the air gauge and leaked air, making it useless. Frustrated, I gave up for the night. Before it blew through the silicone though, I never heard the turbo whine. I was using ~20psi shop air.

My engine is completely stock. Is max 16.2psi empty normal? Is my EBP normal?

17 is considered max on a stock truck. and you only need 10lb of air for the leak detector.....

You have to compare the EBP psi to MAP and BARO, for the +/- .2 difference.... and that's KOEO not running

16.2 is well within normal for max boost on a stock engine. Also look at MAP and EBP KOEO, should be close to each other. Just to confirm MAP sensor is ok.

Disconnect the red line from the wastegate actuator to get an extra psi or three.

On a stock system, when does the red line have an effect on the turbo? What boost/ RPM?
