Ok here we go. I am only getting 0-2psi of boost at any steady speed. If I step on it I get 14-18psi depending on how long I stay in it. I replaced my banks guages with Depricols and replaced the air lineto the guage. I made my own leak tester out of a 4" pvc endcap with an air nozzle tapped in. I put in 25psi and I attached it to the inlet side of the Turbo(where air filter attaches) Is that the right place to attach it??? When I applied the air the tube attached between the turbo and pvc endcap started to expand until the pvc popped off. I am not sure if the air even made it past the turbo. I have an AIH delete with boost adapter on the way. I am fairly new to diesels (last fall) and am not sure if I set up the test right. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks
thats the way I tested mine...if It pressured up to 25 and poped off atthe tester I would think there is no leak in your system, mine was very obvious at my IC boot, it wouldnt evne pressure up with my leak. are you Tee'd into the map line right now?
Have you always had the low boost readings or is it something new? Could be leaking IC boots, IC tube, up pipes, etc.
I can tell you that mine(with the AIH deleted and boost tapped) runs 5-7psi cruising the highway and goes to 25-27psi at WOT.
Disconnect your overboost eliminator and go back to the stock hookup there and see what happens. If no change, check the exhaust manifolds and uppipes for leaks.
Truck runs fine no stumbles nothing, 16mpg around town, 12-13 towing. EGT,s ok 600 at 70-75mph empty and 700-800 while towing 8k lb TT at 70mph on even ground
How does your turbo wheel look. pitted, parts missing? shiny and smooth? Got any wiggle in the shaft?
When I put AIS on 3-4 months ago (after this problem started) the Turbo wheel had no blemishes at all and wheel was solid. I didn't get a chance to do the AIH delete today so hopefully tomorrow I will know more if that takes care of it.
