Rancho Shocks #$%^&

Just another set of the rancho shocks set for the scrap pile.

Made an appointment to take the truck into the dealer to see what they will do.

Damn sure ranchos are'nt going back on my truck!

I guess I've been lucky so far. The Rancho shocks on my '17 SD Platinum have performed flawlessly.

The truck started riding rough as hell over the same roads I travel.

I replaced my rears with Fox 2.0 resi w/ compression adjusters last night, I could compress the Ranchos with my hands super easy and it took almost a minute for one of them to decompress.

On the softest setting with the foxes I couldn't compress them just by my hands. Huge difference, so much smoother.

Waiting on the front 2.5s to come back from getting valved.

So, I'm a bit of a newb to having a brand new vehicle. I've only owned Ford trucks older than 02, until this one. I think it rides amazing, but has a bit of a stiff bounce to it. How do you know if your shocks are bad, and is this what they help with?

That stiff bounce will get a lot worse. I have 6500 miles on mine and started noticing it at 4500 miles and kept getting worse.

Been looking at Fox 2.0's and will go that route, but wanted to see what Ford would do first.

Get free replacements from Ford, pull them out as soon as you get home, sell them on craigslist, buy Fox 2.0's, forget all this ever happened...

If they won't swap them out for you, skip directly to step 4. The same end result will ensue.

Rodney, Have you installed your Fox 2.0's in the rear yet? I've had mine on for about a month now and it is a much smoother ride.

Yes, I got them a week or two back. Love them. Epic has them in now too. He's got a video coming up. I won't give the details and ruin it for everyone...LOL

PS: The best part is my OE shocks weren't even blown yet and the ride still improved...

Are these for the 2016 where you have to change out the bushings & sleeves?

That's correct Mike. It's very easy to swap out the bushing and sleeve and that's the only difference between the 2005-2016 shocks and the yet to be released 2017 units. I was going to wait but Fox told me later in the year.

There you go Rodney! Build some anticipation. Maybe I should release the trailer tonight?
