We all have different duty cycles too. My 2015 truck has 170,xxx on it and by the end of next week it will be 171,xxx. I change the oil when the truck dings at me, which is around 7500 miles, which is about every 5 weeks. For me, using a high priced boutique oil would be stupid. Just using shell T-6 costs me about $70/month, fancy stuff would be $200 bi-monthly? No thanks.
Fuel and oil for some people is a real expense on a weekly basis. Even if I changed oil at 15,000 mile intervals I'd be buying 18 gallons/year. I use the cheapest 5w-40 I can find which is valvoline at present. I used T-6 since 2011 and never has any reason to change.
If you used Amsoil 5w40 and their 25,000 mile filter it would run around $145 for an oil change shipped to your door and would be good for 15,000 miles. That is wholesale pricing which is available for $20 a year for a preferred customer. Just saying. Everybody has their own preferred method
Amsoil meets all of the manufacturers specification requirements. Only if the dealer can prove that the use of any aftermarket product caused a failure can they refuse to honor a warranty claim. Amsoil is as good as it gets when it comes to full synthetic engine oils. I have always used a sample of used oil sent to Blackstone Laboratories to analyze the oil. The test results have always exceeded that of any other brand. Not by much but still proves to be the best. Whether or not it's really worth the added cost to switch to Amsoil is only a personal choice and a peace of mind decision.
Just my .2 cents. Have 2017 F-350 DRW 4x4 with the M300-LSD, I Started using Amsoil as Soon as I got the truck home . Oil , trans, transfer-case , front and rear end, power steering. I run the Severe Gear 75-110 added the aprox amount of Amsoil trak -loc even tho they say you may not need it unless you get chatter (Then did figure 8s in a parking lot to work it into the friction plates). Wasnt going to waste my time having to pull the cap and adding it later. I couldn't be happier with the comfort that I have the best protection on the market.
Also the Amsoil duel by-pass filter using https://www.blackstone-labs.com/tests/ for my oil testing. Lets you know exactly whats wearing and what could be going bad that You cant see. (once a year)

Seriously, this thread is nearly 1.5 years old, I smell an Amsoil salesperson.
