For now I am. Think I'll try the ones from bronco graveyard.
This thread is a little old and you said the driver's side was the one which was so bad, but then in the last post, you said you think you will try the "ones" from Bronco Graveyard. Well, if you are thinking of replacing both, I located a NOS [actually 3] right side with a great price from an unexpected source [UHAUL Tech Center / eBay store]. The freight is very reasonable, too.

That place is great, and they have NOS going back to the '70's
It's pretty a amazing that this stuff has been warehoused for so long after they've retired generations from their fleet.
I had a little time and I got my inspection plate cleaned up. No leaks!
I would get a spark plug terminal "crimper tool" and some new terminal ends, and redo/shorten all those spark plug wires. Or a properly fitted plug wire set...
I'm OCD when it comes to stuff like that under the hood.
It's lookin' good. Good luck
Mike - Good point. The extra-long wires are an invitation to miss-fires. For instance, the one that looks like it is laying on the steering shaft will abraid and short out there.
And, while you are at it, buy some vacuum hose and replace those to the air cleaner. The long one coming from a vacuum source and going to the temp sensor should be shortened. From the temp sensor the one with a plug should go to the cold weather module where the hose with no plug is. And the one on the cold weather module with a bolt goes to the vacuum motor in the snorkel.

I totally agree! I have lots of cable management to do. Not just plug wires either.

Yea the vacuum lines are on my list already. I have quite a few that are just plugged up.
On another note.... is there any downside to removing the smog pump and all associated hoses and brackets? It isn't hooked up and is just plain in the way.
Ahhh! The little fitting in the bottom pic is for vacuum to operate that valve. I don't think it went directly to the carb because it should have been controlled by some logic system to determine when to operate. In any event, it can be plugged.

The big guy in the first pic is what the big hose on the pump attached to. I cut the end off the hose and plugged it. Seems to run fine.
