Just grab a whole column from a bone yard. Very easy to remove. Take off plastic pieces around column, remove two big bolts anchoring column to dash frame, unbolt 5 or 6 screws at firewall, disconnect harness, under hood, disconnect auto shifter lever, and steering column shaft.
Pull out and done.

That's what I would do and save on shipping.

I've heard of this stuff but I have not used it. I'll have to do research on it.
Anyone have thoughts on this stuff?
I have used it in a chipper/shredder that sat for years.
After a carb rebuild it still did not run right used half a can in the tank and about half a tank later was running like new.
Also used a can in my 02 Dodge Durango with close to 200 k on it to clean injection system and did help run better.

The transmission pan seems odd. I don't remember an auto tranny with a connection to the pan.
The transmission linkage probably goes to the carb and is the kickdown linkage. It needs a C-clip to hold it in the lever, but it isn't too important as you can pull the lever into 2nd if you need to downshift.
The hose looks to be to the fuel pump, and that's a must-fix.
The ducting missing from the air cleaner is good to have to get cool air to the carb, but isn't a requirement.
The brake rotor looks bad, but the shield can be done away with if it is a problem. Or just leave it as is.

The hose looks to be to the fuel pump, and that's a must-fix. YES and I would doo ALL the rubber fuel lines. You should have ones by the tank(s) to metal lines, that one from metal line to pump and may have one or two by carb. Only vacuum line I say you need is from carb to dist. for vacuum advance.
The ducting missing from the air cleaner is good to have to get cool air to the carb, but isn't a requirement. True but he is also missing the hot air tube that may be needed in cold weather.
The brake rotor looks bad, but the shield can be done away with if it is a problem. Or just leave it as is. True I have a car or 2 that I did a drum to disc swap and cant get the dust shields for. [/QUOTE]

Yes would that be for a C4 auto? I don't remember any C6 having that.
The old BW autos used in AMC cars used the same type of tube/stick set up.

Yes it is a C4 auto from everything I have found on it.
The thing is, will a used column that you buy...be any better? It could be worse.
I didn't buy a used column
Here's what I bought:
Said it was liquidation of old parts stock. It was $60. I'll have to clean it up and paint it. The other $30 was for the other parts suggested and shipping.
