Ok I`m sure its been asked before but i recently took ownership of my inlaws 03 150 kingcab that had issues in the fall well im just not getting it home to work on it , so it had the black cluster syndrome i seem to have fixed , when i trigger the cluster to see if theres any dtc codes it says none , my question is what are all the stock codes it brings up supposed to be theres alot of them and i have no clue what they should read to find the issue , i believe he put diesel in the tank and it wont start , but i sprayed a bit of nose candy down the breather and it tried to fire , so will a fuel pump bring a error code up?
you will probably get fuel misfire codes in the P0301-302, etc for cylinders. You may get additional codes for the O2 sensors , maybe fuel trim, etc............ Clean it up and get it running... clear all OLD codes, then startup and see any NEW codes and deal with that....... to see what any code is, type the code into GOOGLE and you will get a hit.. that is an IDEA, don't take it as gospel........ come back here with the codes once it is running and you get the actual NEW codes.

when i trip the cluster theres no codes , so im at a loss
your truck should have a Schrader valve on the fuel rail on one side. turn the key on and off a couple times to get the fuel pump to run..... push on the Schrader valve and see if you get a little squirt out... don't put your face in front of the valve. If no fuel, then check power to pump and pump inself.
You should have upwards of 30 psi... enough to squirt out several inches. When injector opens, you need psi to PUSH the gas into the cylinder......... is the pump working ? with more cycles, will it build up more psi ?
last i checked the rail was full but really didnt squirt 30psi is normal? i thought it was more upwards of 60 psi? whats the magic number i should look for i got a pressure tester today so i hope to get out tomorrow if it fails then is assume the pump/filter are defective providing theres power id assume there is since it was running when it was shut off , it wouldnt start again
30 psi is LOW... I didn't know you had a gauge. My point was a "DRIBBLE" will not start.. You need a "SQUIRT" if its going to start....... It will start with 30 psi.

so my pressure tester won't fit the valve but after a few cycles I push the valve open it bleeds out about a inch I'll be getting a fitting to make it work tomorrow while I'm in the city . I wouldn't say it's got 30psi tho . I talk to the Inlaw he said it was chugging on his way home it stalled in the drive way . It wouldn't start . He put fuel in and it started and he moved it where it shut off 20 feet . It's not started since . He thought it ran out of gas since he's a idiot who always drives with fuel light on . So over the weekend I'll test pressure if it's below 30 I'll drop the tank see if the filter is plugged.? Any thoughts
there is an inline filter under the drivers floor on the frame rail... take one end off the hose off the filter, stick in a bucket, and cycle the key to see if your putting out fuel......... you should also be able to hear the pump cycle each time you turn the key ON.
so after a long battle who would have guessed the problem lol . itwasnt the fuel pump but the filter needs replaced in side the tank but still not the problem , i can recall going back last year working on my inlaws riding mower him telling me it was blowing smoke and coughing and carrying on well he failed to mention this all happened after he put the gas in it from what he put in the truck after he ran out . yah hes a idiot , he put diesel in the tank I got the truck started it runs like crap smokes like a stove lol anyway i got to drain all the gas out fun times , ty all for your help
