Acc / Lighter plug stays on

Acc / Lighter plug stays on
I have a 97 F150 XL. The lighter plugs stay on even with the key removed. I just bought this truck and this seems to be odd behavior to me, yet I can find no modified wiring.

I would expect these to turn OFF with the ignition.
Are you saying that they stay hot all the time?

That's what I said....not being switched.
Only in the later trucks are the outlets controlled with timed and load sensing functions.
In your truck the circuit is good for 10 amps max.
If you want to turn off any port install a relay that will pull up with ignition and drop when turned off.
