IMO fordpass is worthless (for superdutys) - it does little or nothing.
FordPass is a connection to the dealer (for calling, or scheduling)
IT provides a connection to ford credit (singular or automated payment setup)
and it among other stuff it provides fuel pricing (ala gas buddy).
it does NOTHING to connect or automated our superduties - in a nutshell, you don't even really need to install it (its not integrated to anything).
IF you have the add-on perimeter alarm and remote module -
Ford REMOTE ACCESS is your connection to the vehicle for lock/unlock, engine start/stop and alarm triggers.
FordPass on my 17 F150 is far from worthless. I can remotely start/stop it from anywhere in the world that has cell phone access. I can also unlock/lock it. I can also schedule start times. If someone steals my truck I can look on the map and know exactly where its at. At the moment I can check the fuel level. I understand that in the next five years more features will be added. For the next five years the service is free.

your comparison of what FordPass can do is inaccurate for this forum.
Unlimited data (de-prioritized after 22GB) for $20/month. It's awesome, and you can buy an A/C adapter so you can take it with you. We take it and put it in our RV when camping.
OR get one of the cellular/mobile USB (chargeable) hotspots (you can use anywhere, not just in the car/truck)....or TETHER you smartphone as a solution.

It will at least do for the SD what it does for the F150 when its available. So as I said its far from worthless and its free

This looks very interesting. I've used several different hotspots and the drawbacks have always been that they don't "smart-charge" - they're only smart enough to display that they're fully charged and should be disconnected power - and they overheat and shutdown at temperatures far below what the inside of a vehicle sees on even a moderately warm day.
I wouldn't want to occupy the OBD port with this, but it appears to get only power from the port, so that should be easy to overcome.

Agreed. I bought (I could have made but didn't want to take the time) an adapter that plugs into a regular outlet and has an ODB connector for the Mobley device to plug into. I just plug it into the AC outlet in the truck, in our RV, and actually use it at home to give me dual WAN support on my router. I'm a tech geek so I like gadgets.

I just tried to by a Mobley and AT&T is out of stock. Keep us posted on how yours works.
